SEAN LEE VIOLA/VIOLIN
Biography
Hui Pang Lee (Sean) is a violist and violinist born in Hong Kong. He first studied the violin under Mr. Felix Chan from the Hong Kong Children’s Strings. He achieved outstanding results in competitions, including awards from the Hong Kong Inter-School Music Festival, the Hong Kong Youth Barclampory Music Festival, and the Hong Kong Bauhinia Cup String Competition, to name a few. In recent years, he has begun his education in London studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Professor Matthew Jones. During his time in London, he achieved the FTCL Diploma from Trinity and achieved excellent results in the Premia International Young Artists Music Festival and the Tokyo International Youth Music Competition. He is currently a recipient of the Guildhall School Financial Award. Besides solo work, Sean is also a member of the Hongs Quartet, currently in the NSKA.
Teaching
My main goal is to give students the tools that they need to look at themselves and wonder what can they do to do better. I do this by employing different, personalised teaching methods that I learnt from observing different teachers over the span of my still ongoing music education.With extensive experience working with students of varying skill levels and ages, I bring a level of individualized attention that is unrivaled. As a musician, I understand the importance of fostering creativity and providing a dynamic learning environment that encourages students to push themselves to new heights. Performing
Other than teaching, I take great care of everything that I perform, preparing everything to the best of my ability. I have performed in many venues all over London such as the Holy Sepulchre Church, the Barbican Hall and Kew Gardens, just to name a few. I am able to perform a wide array of repertoire ranging from Bach to contemporary music and even modern pop songs.
